Tactics and tips


Stage 1
Opponents: Goblins (Retaliation+Poison)
Boss: "Def Hand" David, 75 hp ranger
Battlefield: 4 Explosive Barrels that explode upon death dealing 12 fire damage to surrounding units.
Special Units: None
Deck used: Armour helps prevent the non-sundered units to get trough, save Direct Damage spells for if enemy does sunder a unit.
Notes: Sunder Armour will be your main concern here, as these will go trough your armoured units. Decay is nasty too, but can be more easily dealt with.
Stage 2:
Opponents: Goblins (Retaliation+Poison), Black Market Caravans (explode upon death dealing damage to surrounding units)
Special Units: Raid Leader Gubba (+1 attack to all goblins, hit and run)
Boss: Little Jacob, Mage
Battlefield: 4 Explosive Barrels that explode upon death dealing 12 fire damage to surrounding units.
Special Units: Raid Leader Gubba (+1 attack to all goblins, hit and run)
Deck used: Most standard decks work. Magic resist/immune units can help with avoiding insta-death by his spells and explosive caravans.
Watch out for: Boss uses Hermes wings and casts meteor storms (8 fire dmg in fixed cross area)

Shimmering Cave is notably easy even on hardmode, and is often either spikerushed or autood
