RED DRAGON LAIR

Red Dragon Lair is another Event boss that uses the same battlefield as ancient den, and 2 techniques are most often used.

Wall technique:

Survive untill about turn 12, then put 4 walls in first column (next to hero). Sanct them, boss will unleash a 99 dmg attack, and with sanct reflecting it, kills himself.

Deck used: walls/skeletons/removal

Rush technique:

A little more complicated, but can be done with a wider variety of classes without relying on sanctuary. Simply use heroic units, and buffs, to kill the enemy as fast as possible. You can use protect or sanctuary on your best unit if armageddon is about to happen.

Deck used: Heroic/Souleater cavalry, Windwalkers, heroic/encourage buffs/sanctuary/protect

Combining the two:

Combining the two is very much possible, you focus on rush technique foremost, but if you happen to have 4 walls and maybe 1 or 2 sancts ready you can still kill boss with ease.

About the boss:
The boss has several armagedon phases where cast forgetfullness first on everything, then proceeds to clear the battlefield with 18 fire damage. These happen on turns 6/13/(not sure here)

If you have no units on the field, hell delay his armagedon though, so do make sure u got some units.

Another trick he has is a fireblast, again wiping all units, and a ultimate attack (see walltechnique). Lastly he also summons portals and mag,a at random spots if there are enemy units on the field.

The magma, unlike Ancient den magma, deals 5 fire damage upon entering, and another 5 if you stay on it.

He is also different then other bosses with his targeting. He has an insta-kill vertical doublestab that first most targets units in connecting lanes, if there are none, he goes from top lane to bottom, and not from closest to furthest like normally. Only using 3 lanes at most (or 2 even) will be of great benefit thus.

Boss units:

Boss summons 3 kind of units, both from his hand an portals he randomly places. First you have small dragons, that deal 3 dmg to hero in that lane upon dying, and you have dragonkins, that get +3 attack +1 life per dragon on field, these are the most dangerous, especially when spawned from portal right in front of a hero. Save your deadly blows for these if you have them. Lastly he spawns an unique that gives all dragons +2 extra fire damage, but this unique won't spawn from a portal.

Note regarding Eventquest:

Since this is an event boss, eventrelated quests happen also. I put a note of that here seeing as it can make a difference how you play, as the quests make it so that the longer you play, the more "points you'll get. The 2 quests are "kill xx dragons" and "kill boss before turn 25"

The more dragons you kill, the more points you get. Longer battle = more kills. You can get up to 80 kills or so before the quest is filled. The second quest takes your first attempt of the day, and the longer it took you to kill boss the more points you'd get. The wallstrategy is overall shorter and results in less kills, even though its easier then the rushstrategy you might want to do rush instead for the points.
